Who doesn’t like indoor plants? They can make a room look and feel fresh. But if you have pets, certain kinds of plant material can cause vomiting and gastrointestinal issues. - Echeverria – This adorable succulent will look good on your desk and won’t pose any risk to your house cat. Despite its gorgeous rosette-like appearance, it’s a fairly low maintenance indoor plant that thrives in brightly-lit spaces and moderate to low soil moisture.
- Zebra plant – If you like the look of large, green tropical leaves, consider getting a zebra plant. Native to Brazil, these plants have beautiful leaves with white, pink, or yellow stripes. With enough care, these plants can grow up to three feet. Plants yours in a draining pot with high quality soil for the best results.
- Spider plant – If you’re new to indoor plants, a spider plant is ideal. All it needs is low light and weekly watering in order to grow and sprout plant long tendril-like leaves. Best of all, it’s non-toxic to your fur babies. If you have a busy schedule but would like to add some greenery to your home, getting a spider plant is your best bet.
- Boston fern – Also known as the sword fern, this plant has big gorgeous fronds that can grow up to five feet long, making it a wonderful addition to your indoor décor. Boston ferns thrive in cool environments with indirect sunlight and high humidity. These ferns can be placed in plant hangers, which add a nice decorative touch to ceilings, windows, and archways.
- Snapdragon – This perennial sprouts colorful blooms and gives off a subtle but pleasing scent when cared for properly. The ASPCA considers this plant non-toxic to cats, dogs, and horses, making it safe for your pets. It can also add a burst of color to your Cleveland home in the winter.
- African Violet – Another flowering house plant to consider is the African Violet, which can tolerate most indoor environments and is therefore ideal for busy or first-time plant owners. With enough care and attention, this plant can bloom throughout the year, bringing beauty and color to your home with its small violet flowers.
